State Forum
The State Forum was formed in 1992 to engage and support the individual state perinatal associations.

The forum:

Provides an opportunity for state association leadership
to exchange ideas and problems reflecting state issues.
Areas of interest include:
- Membership recruitment and retention
- Fundraising
- Advocacy
- Education about perinatal health issues
- Operation of state organizations:
- Fund raising
- Membership recruitment and retention
- Political activities
- Health reform issues
- Ensures a direct link between state associations and the leadership of NPA through the election of three representatives (Chair, Chair-Elect, Past Chair) from the Forum who are voting members of the Board of Directors;
- Assists with the agenda content of NPA conferences;
- Facilitates a sharing and promotion of state associations news through publication in the NPA Bulletin and on the State Forum section of the NPA website.
Currently 14 of 17 State Perinatal Associations are NPA state members.
How do state associations join the Forum?
State Perinatal Associations (SPA) join the State Forum through application and payment of annual membership fees. Each member SPA identifies two representatives who have voting privileges at State Forum meetings. The State Forum meets in conjunction with NPA national meetings; all SPA elected representatives and other SPA members are invited to any State Forum meeting.
